Takes place of Advanced Women’s Care clinic
A new chapter began Aug. 1 at Greene County Medical Center. The medical center’s Women’s Health Clinic is now offering women’s health services with ARNP Valerie Martin as provider.
The Women’s Health Clinic transitions the medical center away from the now defunct Advanced Women’s Care clinic that offered OB/GYN services – which, also effective Aug. 1, are no longer available at the medical center.
At the May board of trustees meeting, Martin spoke about the services that can and will be offered at the Women’s Health Clinic. That included a multitude of items focusing on women’s health such as annual exams and testing; urinary tract and vaginal infections; urinary incontinence; menopause management; pelvic pain management; pap smears; and much more.
The staff that will support Martin include Heather Wilson, RN, Aleah Delay, RN, and Noelle Clouse, receptionist.
Martin has been with the medical center since 2008 and served as midwife for more than 80 births at the medical center. She is well respected at the medical center and in the community. Martin stated, “I am very excited to move forward with the new Women’s Health Clinic and I am grateful to have been afforded the opportunity to continue to provide care to the women of Greene County and surrounding areas.”
Martin is a native of Nebraska and received her BSN at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She earned her Master of Science and nursing and midwife certification at the University of Cincinnati. Her post master’s certificate as a women’s health nurse practitioner is also from the University of Cincinnati.
She lives in rural Grand Junction with her husband Bryce and their three children.
At the medical center’s upcoming Sept. 22 open house, Martin will host a meet-and-greet in the new Women’s Health Clinic area on Level A.
Women can make appointments to see Martin and team by calling Clouse at 386-515-2240.
